My Name is Lizzy Nelson, and I am currently a student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music working on a Professional Studies Diploma in Instrumental Performance.
I began play oboe in 1998 during the summer of my 8th grade year. During High School I studied with Dr. Lara Saville Dahl, now Professor of Oboe at Georgia State University. I then went on to study with Dr. Geralyn Giovannetti at Brigham Young University for six years, receiving my Bachelor and Masters of Music degrees. I now study with James Moore, who plays for the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and Opera Orchestras, the California Symphony and frequently with the San Francisco Symphony.
I have held a private oboe studio for the past 4 years, and have supplied many reeds to my students. I have also taught as adjunct faculty at Snow College, and made reeds for my students there. I recently had the opportunity to send reeds to the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.
